1. Black Matte Murex Cousin: Nib is FINE, date-coded 175. Smooth writing pen. $70.

2. Ditto: Date-coded 1274. $70.

3. Elite Crosshatch: Stainless crosshatch barrel and black barrel. Y5000 sticker. 14K WG FINE nib, dated 779. The so-called ‘Socrates’ pen. $90.

4. Elite Black: Black black cap and barrel with gold trim. Matchng 14K YG FINE nib. Real smooth with a hint of flex. $60.

5. Black pen: FINE gold-plated nib. Y3000 sticker. Last chance before ebay. $30.

1. Sailor Mini: These are the original short Sailor pens from 1968. this one has the funky little tag. The F means FINE and it sports an 18K YG nib. These have more girth than any other except the Pilot Elites. Y3000 sticker. $50.

2. Sailor Mini: Ditto, with red barrel. 14K FINE with a slight flex to it. $50. FWIW, IMHO, this is the nicer pen.

3. Sailor 14K: Nice springy 14K FINE. $45.

4. Sailor 14K: Ditto, but with slightly less spring. 14K FINE. $40.

1. Platinum President: This is still in the current catalogue and retails for the Y15,000 shown on the sticker. Have no idea if it is sold in America. Has 22K EF nib that has some flex to it. Really nice pen. $90.

2. Platinum President: all of the above except in red and it’s a FINE. $90.

3. Platinum 14K: Short blackpen. Nice smooth 14K Japanese FINE nib. No sticker but a new pen. $40.

4. Platinum 14K: Ditto, except a FINE. $40.

5. Platinum Bel Age: Stainless steel pen and pencil set. 14K WG MEDIUM nib with slight flex. New! Came in a cheap plastic box. If you need the box add for shipping. Otherwise, $80.

1. Crosshatch: Brushed stainless with engraved lines. 14K MEDIUM nib. Very nice and very smooth. $60.

2. Stripes: Polished cap and barrel with lacquered stripes. 18K WG FINE nib. $60.

3. Bonita: I’m told the gold flakes are real and applied over red lacquer then clear lacquer is applied over it. Y6000 tag. 18K YG FINE nib. $90.

4. Platinum 18: Brown leather. Red section. 18K YG FINE slightly flexi nib. Y6000 tag. $80.

5. Platinum 18: Ditto, except for Y8000 tag. Must be after the price increase. $80.

1. Pilot Velox: Volex, Velco, or something like that. It’s seen on ebay sometimes. Stainlesss cap and barrel. MEDUM stainless steel nib, dated 1283. Smooth with some spring to it. $80.

2. Pilot Elite: Gold facetted barrel band. 18K YG POSTING nib. Y3500 sticker notes it’s a FINE. $40.

3. Pilot Elite: 18K SCRIPT nib. Y2500 sticker. Some marks on section from opening and closing cap. $30.

Platinum Brushed Stainless Set: Set with FP, BP, and Mechanical Pencil. Comes with pencil leads, ballpoint refill, and two cartridges. Nib is an 18K WG FINE that’s very very smooth. All have the stickers on them. Nice set and ready to write regardless of your pleasure. $100. Plastic case is a generic one by Pilot.

Sailor Leather: The outside cardboard box is slightly worse for wear. Inside is a new Sailor leather-clad pen in the 30-year old plastic wrapping. Sailor leather pens are the hardest to find of those made by the Big three. 18K YG FINE nib. Comes with the two cartridges shown. $100.
