Dear China Pen Lovers,

In traditional Chinese Culture, Lovers are often depicted in novels as a pair of butterflies or mandarin ducks. When one of the butterflies or ducks are dead, the others follow them in the other world. Novels like the butterfly lovers, Dream of the red mansions shows great tragedy in love between two person of different social status, generally a rich and a poor. When their love cannot be fullfilled, a new storyline begins with their death.
