Dear Yi Cheng Pen Lovers,

In 1964 Parker USA introduced the model 75, a new high styled fountain pen priced at US$25. It was made almost entirely out of sterling silver and trimmed in gold. The 14 karat gold nib rotated in the section to accommodate every writing angle.

For the first time, Parker used a triangular shaped gripping section for writing comfort. The Parker 75 was very successful and Parker followed up the introduction by adding finishes, including one in vermeil (gold over silver). An exclusive finish in sterling silver was produced for tiffany with engraved lines filled with black lacquer, prized by today’s collectors. And not to mention the limited Spanish Treasure, independence hall and the rare titanium space pen.

The success of the 75 in the US encouraged Parker UK to market this model in a great number of lacquer finishes. A range was produced in 1979 by the french factory at Meru. It was offered in 5 colors: Tortoise shell, woodgrain, lapis lazuli, red quartz and malachite.

The Parker 75 was discontinued in the spring of 1994, so great was the popularity and success of this model worldwide that it is one of the hottest model for cloning.

I have been to many parts of the Orient for the past 5 years and have touch and seen many Parker 75 clone, and in my last visit I found something amazing. A few clone of Parker 75 lacquer series made by the famous Shanghai Pen factory in 1982 was discovered in one of the old pen shop.

I called them the Lacquer series in Marble Pebbles finish. I am now sharing these clones with you fellow Parker Collectors.
