Parker Black Giant Clone Made in China 1972
Dear Yi Cheng Pen Lovers,
In 1915, Parker introduced its famous Black Giant, first as a slip-cap eyedropper an later as a screw cap variety modeled after the company’s famous Jack Knife Safety Pen. It was produced in two standard size averaging 4.5 inch and 5 inches.
But the Parker Black Giant was made for relatively short period of time.
I was on my last trip in , China that I found a few clone of this Parker Black Giant and I manage to get only 5 pieces that were so called sales man Display. These Big Black Giant clone were basically unavailable these days as they were produced in Shanghai in 1972.
These black giant measures 15.5cm in length and 1.6cm in thickness. Its gold plated medium nib comes with a non removable rubber suction pump that takes in plenty of ink. Cap is screw on, as in the later version of the original Parker Black Giant. Note that these pens has been surviving for the past 30 odd years, there are minor brassing on its cap ring and clip which should comes off easily after cleaning.
These are rare pens and is a collectible items by Parker enthusiastic. I have only 5 of them here:
