Flushing your pen to get it ready for another ink color or to be put away. Basically this process involves emptying the pen of any ink it may currently contain. Then proceeding to "flush" the pen with water until it runs clear. After that you "shake down" the pen with the tip held in a tissue to capture the water/moisture.
