Looking for the perfect rollerball

I hope I'm posting in the right place here...My name is Sandra and I just joined today.

I had a Levenger Gotham rollerball for years, but it kept breaking. It had a push button mechanism and it fell apart, and the push button stopped working. Each time, Levenger replaced it, until that fateful day when they said they weren't making it anymore and they gave me credit toward a new pen.

Well, nothing is the same. I have tried other pens, and they're not as wonderful. The weight of the pen in my hand, the way it glided across the paper, are irreplaceable.

I'm open to suggestions. I've never even been able to find one online for sale. I really prefer a capless rollerball; taking the cap on and off is a pain.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

Okay a couple of questions. I'm not familiar with the Gotham. Is it a heavy, light or "in the middle" pen with concern to weight?

What's your budget? Below $30, $30 to $50, more?

Have you tried Parker Gels in anything? I know that quite a few people enjoy those. Have you looked into the Retro51 Tornado? It's a capless rollerball.

Anyway, I can probably offer some more suggestions after I get some feedback from you.

Hope you enjoy the site,

- Mark

the Gotham

It was probably what I'd call "In the middle" with weight. Budget is $30-50. No, haven't tried the Parker Gels. But will look for them. I do have a Retro51 Tornado, actually, and a Rotring Jazz, but I still miss my Gotham! LOL

Thanks for your help/reply. Looking forward to hearing from you again.

Sandra

Probably your best bet is to try out the Parker Gel.

Since there is a wide variety of pens that can accept that refill that will expand you options.

Have you tried any of the Sensa pens? The new ones accept Parker refills.
