I make a very nice handturned rollerbal or fountain pen that has the recipients' initials built into the top of the cap. This makes an excellent gift, because it is clear to the recipient that this pen was built especially for them. I package these high end pieces in nice rosewood presentation boxes.

I use domestic and imported hardwoods such as mahogany, bubinga, and rosewood; oak, poplar, walnut, and maple. The metal components are 18k gold plate, satin gold black enamel, gun metal, black chrome.
These pens are intended and priced to be used everyday; not to be put away and protected like an expensive collectible. However, they are much nicer than a piece of plastic off the rack. My prices start at $6.95/each for the domestic hardwoods packaged in a conservative black dept store style pen box. This same piece sells for $14.95 to $24.95/unit anywhere else on the net. Nobody does the basic pens for a better price, nobody.
