You will find that some of the members of the IAP are extremely innovative pen makers, who offer beautifully handcrafted writing instruments at exceptional prices. Even though most of the pens are made from commercially available kits, you will find that some of the members have gone well beyond the "kit pen" attitude in their skills, whether it be extreme modification, laser engraved art, or just new and exciting materials. We are really hoping that the pen collectors and afficionados (sp) will come to appreciate what we do and have to offer. We can even offer FPs with gold nibs, albeit limited to medium, but beautiful writing nibs none the less.
The material for that pen is an alternative jade that is imported from England... it is an acrylic of some sort, but much closer in feel to the materials used on high grade commercial pens. It comes in all kinds of alternative colors... I have some in amber, marble, tortoiseshell, red coral, etc. that I still need to get done...
I also did this same material with a laser engraved dragon.. see the picture below.. it is three views of the same pen..
