Show Notes
Pen Topic
Pen show etiquette - A couple of questions that are often asked about pen shows. Can I touch or pick up the pens at a show? Can I bring pens to the show to sell?
I have a couple of opinions on this. Touching pens is okay for the most part. Vintage pens should be handled carefully. Most dealers that don't want you touching there higher end pens will have them in a display case. If interested in a pen in the case ask to see it.
Bringing pens to sell. Probably not a good idea. Most of the people that would buy it at a show are dealers. They would likely want to pay wholesale or deep discount so they could sell if and make money. So probably not a good idea as a consumer to try and sell pens at a show. Of course there are always exceptions.
Photography
Software that I use to do my photo editing. Photoshop Elements 3.

Remember your camera is a tool, much in the way paint is a tool for an artist or a chisel is a tool for a scultper.
Technology
Jots http://www.jots.com - Another bookmarking type of website. Very clean and simple interface. Here are some things I've bookmarked recently. http://www.jots.com/users/mbacas
PenWiki - If anyone knows of a pen related wiki out there please let me know. If not, I'm working on one.
Subscribe to the Podcast Feed or get the MP3.
Next show will have some reviews in it.
I plan on doing a pen review of what I think are good value pens in the $100 price range.
Thanks for the feedback,
- Mark
Second Podcast Show
Mark,
Glad to see the second podcast arrive. I have downloaded it and look forward to listening in the car on the drive home from work this evening.

Wiki and audioblogger
Hi Mark,
Great idea to do the podcasts! I fooled around a bit with audioblogger about a year ago on my blog, but need to find the time to do podcasts too
Here's an example: http://hisnibs.blogspot.com/2004/08/beam-me-in-scotty.html
There's been a fountain pen Wiki for some time now, at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fountain_pen.
Also, references here: http://wiki.43folders.com/index.php/Moleskine_Friendly_Fountain_Pens.

Thanks for the feedback.
I was thinking more of a standalone wiki for the fountain pen community rather than one tied in with WikiPedia. Do you think this would be anything of value? Or should people just update the Wikipedia wiki?

Wikis
Hi Mark,
Sure, I think a stand-alone fountain pen wiki would be a valuable resource. It would need to be heavily promoted (meaning frequently
) at the various FP boards, but if it caught on, it would be terrific.

Yes, that's what I was thinking.
Anytime people had a question about something I'd try and point them to the wiki if it was already answered. And if it wasn't already addressed, I'd try to address it or put out a request for people with the appropriate knowledge to address it.

Second PodCast Show
Hi Marc, thanks for presenting your second show, which is a great initiative! Thanks also for answering some of my questions.
I was thinking about a possible topic for the next time, maybe a bit of a personal topic: your favourite pens or brand of pens.Your ideas about quality pens. Maybe the pens your started with, that brought you into this hobby. Just some suggestions.
Great work!
