Great initiative, Marc! Nice relaxing voice.

Thanks! Hope I didn't put you to sleep. :)

I enjoyed doing it. Already have some ideas for future shows. Will see how it goes.

Let me know if there are any specific topics you'd like to see covered.

- Mark

Specific topics...

Maybe tell us something about how you first got into fountain pens.
What is your favourite brand/type of pen?
Paper... what's good, what not?
What does 2 Cor 3:3 mean to you?
Your best and your worst pen?
Just some wild ideas.

Portvrij

Topics . . .

Sounds good. I'll cover some of these on the next show.

So, what is your favorite pen?
Favorite paper?
Best pen?

And how do you pronounce your name?

- Mark

Pen preferences

My favourite pen is my Nakaya woodred celluloid. By far my best writer. Stimulated me to check other Japanese pens as well. I have to say: I found a Pilot Custom with a broad nib, that writes very good too.

Apart from this I think my orange Waterman Carène (coral) is my most beautiful pen. It's really a modern classic. But it's also a problem child. It had to go back to the pen doctor many times. I don't think I would buy it again.

I'm not really a paper guy, don't know much about it. That's why I'm open to news about it.

Portvrij really is my "nom de plume". It's Dutch for "postage free" or "post-free". It's just a name. How to pronounce it? "Port" is not difficult in English, "vrij" is difficult because "ij" is an unknown sound in English. It's similar to the sound of "I" (1st person singular) or the German "ei", like in "nibmeister".

I was thinking about another topic for your Podcast, that is Pen Show etiquette. For example: is it appropriate to touch the pens that you see, or should you ask first. Is it okay to take some pens of your own and try to sell them at the show? Tips for negotiating. Etc.
