Stan's Pens - Platinum Pens

1. Playboy: Made by Platinum for Playboy in Japan. Possibly unique chain design. Heavy brushed stainless steel pen. Y10,000 tag on clip. 14K white Gold FINE nib. Loud click when you snap on the cap. Matte black inserts in the tassies with you know what logo. Tassie image. $110. I don’t think they made too many of these.

2. Silver w/Stripes: Polished steel cap and barrel with lacquer stripes. Perfect condition. Y4000 sticker. Super smooth 18K White Gold Japanese FINE nib. $60.

3. Stainless Crosshatch: Brushed stainless steel with engraved horizontal and vertical lines cap and black plastic barrel. Smooth 14K Yellow Gold Japanese MEDIUM nib. NEW PEN. $60.

4. Stainless Stripes: Brushed stainless with engraved vertical stripes. Y5000 tag. P logo on top tassie. Tassie image. 18K Yellow Gold MEDIUM Flexi smooooth nib. Open clip design. IMHO, the nicest of the line. $70. There is also a set of these further down in the sale.

5. Red Bonita: Red lacquer with gold dust sprinkled over, then clear lacquer applied over the whole thing. One Tokyo-base ebay claimed this was urushi! Y6000 tag that’s fallen off and stuck under the clip. It is the real tag. Smooth 18K Yellow Gold FINE nib. $90. There is also this Red Platinum Bonita Set for sale.

6. Brown Leather: Nice chocolate colored leather. Probably nothing exotic. 18K Yellow Gold Japanese FINE nib. Note that this pen is about 1/16” shorther than the black model. Otherwise, everything the same. $90.

7. Black Leather: Ditto, but black and with slightly more flex. $90. Or, if you buy both together: $165.

8. Brushed Stainless ‘Flighter”: Have always loved how the clip is recessed into the cap. Here’s a picture. This appears to have been Pats entry into the brushed stainless arena. Y6000 sticker (pricey, for the time). Good size 18K White Gold FINE nib. Very smooth. Red nib section to me is nicer than black. Got two of these. The other has a black section. $70 each. Please indicate the one you want. Here is a set for sale. Platinum Stainless Set.

9. Stainless Tang: Lack of better name to describe the pattern. Photo-engraved floral pattern all over the cap and barrel. Nice textured effect. 18K White Gold really smooth FINE nib. $70.

10. Polished Riviere: Here’s a pattern not seen often. Polished stainless steel with finely engraved lines. This is a sharp looking pen. For some time I thought it was sterling. Slightly springy 14K White Gold MEDIUM nib. $70.

11. Striped Riviere: finely brushed metal (stainless?) with lacquered black stripes and then lacquered over for a smooth surface. You can see the brushing under the lacquer. NEW pen! 18K White Gold FINE nib. $70.
