Marlen Milky Way - Mirror Image

I've been playing around with taking pictures using mirrors. Kinda fun. Here is a shot I recently did.

A terrific photo Mark!

Hi Mark,

A big improvement over the original one you posted on Pentrace. Good job!

Mark,

First off let me say you make me sick with these pen pictures. I can't even take a decent picture of a chair!

It is a great picture! What I would also like to know is, what is a Marlen Milky Way? This is a very nice looking pen but the first I've ever heard of. Could you give a few more details about the pen? Like what type nib & Price etc...

Sorry, didn't mean to make you sick. :)

Thanks for the compliment. I'm enjoying the learning process of taking pictures and working with them in Photoshop.

This is a very unusual pen by a company called Marlen. Not sure if they are related to some other pen company, but they might be.

This pen has an 18K medium nib. It appears to be very well made. Sterling trim and clip.

The unusual thing about the pen is the way the cap closes. It's actually elliptical. It "wobbles" as you screw the cap on. I believe this has something to do with the solar system and the way planets rotate and stuff. It lines up on the last twist when you close the cap. Very nice colors. Cap posts by screwing onto the back of the pen as well.

I got it off eBay for what I think was a pretty good deal at $150.

Incredibly quick shipping.

I haven't inked it up yet. Smiling

Marlen and Krone

Hi Mark,

Marlen actually makes most of the non-LE pens for Krone (the one's that most people like Smiling, such as the Metaphor).

Yes, this is an excellent image and you are improving by leaps and bounds over the first attempt (which was quite good itself) that I also saw on PT. I received a snail recently from someone who used a Marlen, but not the Milky Way - it was a Journal, as I just went back to look at his letter. Marlen is an Italian Company and they sell through many dealers, at least here in the States. You have a very nice looking pen and the photo is a new twist. I like it.
