Looking for info on Parker English Victory fountain pens.

I'm new to collecting and decided to start with Parker English Victory pens. They are relatively inexpensive (probably for a good reason, I know), readily available (probably why they are cheaper), and write well. And, last but not least, since they are English made and I am currently living in the UK I thought they may be easier to find locally. Only problem is I can't seem to find any info on them. I have a couple of books on fountain pens, and other than a couple of pics of English Victory pens they contain no other info.

The info I've found online is contradictory. Some websites state the Victory line was started in 1945 in commemoration of the end of WWII, while others state the line was started in 1935. I've seen a couple of mid 1930's Victory pens advertised, so I'm leaning towards the latter.

As an example of the contradictory info out there on these pens, my first purchase about a month ago was of a supposedly 1947-1948 Parker Victory. I sent it out to be serviced, and the guy who serviced it for me said it was a 1946 model. Keep in mind these are all British folks, and even they can't agree! The barrel of this pen has a 1. beside the manufacture's info. From what I've been able to find online the digit is the year of manufacture and the dot represents the quarter. So, someone else told me that meant this pen was made in the 3rd quarter of 1941.

If someone could shed some light on this or tell me where I may find a good source on info on these pens I would greatly appreciate it.

The Victory did come out as a less expensive model but
turned out to be a fantastic pen. The Victory Gold model and Victory Pearl 1935 for example. Your starting year for Victory is 1935. a Victory silver, pink and black striated. a Victory lined silver pink and burgundy marble. these are some beautiful Victories. Very hard to find.

the Victory mark 1 and mark 2 were produced in 1945 after parker acquired control of the Valentine Pen Company.
the Victory was restyled in 1948, this comprised to new models. the first Mark 111, similar to mark 11 but a shorter clip screw and longer blind cap. the second was the Mark IV, more streamlined and sported a new tapered clip
with the name Parker inscribed in it. REF: Andreas Lambrou "Fountain Pens Of The World"
