Day 2 Pictures [1]
Well the 2nd day of mass pen frenzy is over and my feet hurt. Going to a pen show is one of my favorite things to do all year. And it's not so much just the pens, but the people you get to meet. Some you get to see year after year. It's nice to be able to chat with everyone. At the Atlanta show the pen club really likes to make a difference and deliver's sandwiches and drinks at lunch time so dealers don't have to leave their tables and possible business. The lunch being sponser by Lee Chait (club member) and http://www.parker75.com [2].
Some pens I saw and was able to photograph on the first day.
This first one is a Tibaldi. The celluloid on this pen is amazing. I wasn't able to capture some of the greens in this pen. It's much nicer than the picture.

and the nib for it

Here is an unusual pen that Tim Pierson had that was labeled Palmer in and was called a Rite Hold. Perhaps something to do with the Palmer method of writing? The grip on this pen was nice with it's curves providing a natural hold, hence the name.

and the nib for it

There are so many pens at a pen show like this that it blows my mind. So much to look at. I also enjoy watching Richard Binder doing his thing on the nibs and Roger Cromwell doing repairs. You can learn so much by just observing. Speaking of learning there will even be some siminars tomorrow given by Richard, Roger and others. Richard is doing one on nib smoothing and Roger will be talking about repairs.
After the show dealers were treated to a pizza party at the hotel sponsered by http://www.pencity.com [3]. I sign up for the weekend registration which is $50 and this allows me to get in early to the show before the public and attend the pizza party and social events.
I recommend this if you ever get to attend a show. It's much more enjoyable to look around without the crowds.
