Missed The "ChatBox" Last Night

Sorry I missed the pen chat about paper & ink last night. I was really interested in that.

However I had quite a dilemma yesterday afternoon. Around 5PM my faithful HP printer gave up the ghost! Imagine a Saturday afternoon with the prospect of having NO printer until Monday! First I had to decide which printer to get this time, so I checked at the PC World web site and CNET. They both rated the Canon PIXMA 1500 as a best buy & it got tremendous reviews. I believe it received a 4.3 out of a possible 5 rating! So off to Office Depot.

I realize this is off base as far as pens go, but I wanted to let anyone in on what I consider a great buy. I have to believe most of you use a computer to get to this web site. I don't know what the percentage is, but I'll bet 99% have a printer attached.

Canon is selling this printer at an everyday price of $49.00! I got it home & hooked it up. It works like a dream! BTW - It got very good marks for photo prints!

Sorry to take up space, just wanted you to know,

Tommy Fountain

PS: I hope you will have another "chat" about paper & ink
soon!

Sorry you missed it.

One member told of a website where you can get some samples of some good quality paper. I think I'll write up an article and post it to the front page.

We'll probably have another one on paper and ink next month.

Quality Paper

I wish you would write an article on where to get good quality paper!

I don't know if any of you have a "Tuesday Morning" in your area, but I heard they had some stationary at a good price. So I stopped by and found some "Two Sided" stationary for a very good price. It has different color borders on one side, and is blue on the other. I found orange boarders, blue, light blue, green and Yellow. I believe they were $1.25 per pack. I tried them out with different inks and they performed perfectly. I had originally purchased (2) two packs, but when I found out how good they were I went back and bought the rest of them.

Understand they are not what you could call top shelf paper. They are however very well worth the money.

I also found some pretty good ruled letter size ledger paper at Wal-Mart. It is made by Ampad and named "Soft Scenes". It has a cloud and blue sky background. The ruling is very light, (Not bold) making it easy to write on a straight line, which is a must for me! They come bundled in (2) two per pack, and very inexpensive.
