I think the stiff and integral nibs would be similar.

I would think that most integrated nibs would be similar to a regular nib that is stiff. Would an integral nib be even stiffer since it's all part of the pen?

That's been my experience

The only one I own is a Pilot Murex. Very stiff!

It is also extremely smooth, though the Japanese fine nib likes a very smooth paper. I have a bunch of notepads from the ANA Hotel in Tokyo. Japanese paper tends to work well withtheir pens -- imagine that! The pads are a nice smooth paper, a somewhat hard surface, but not coated. Greatfountain pen paper.

Changing, I think

I've liked Sheafer Triumph and inlaid nibs for yonks, but I think I'm changing my preference towards the old flexible 14ct type.

You can do some neat stuff with a flex nib.

Do you have the hang of it down? I'm always afraid I'm going to push down on an upstroke. Smiling

Hope you enjoy the site.
