FireFox Browser

If you haven't taken a look at FireFox you may want to. They just released a new version. Nice browser. I use it exclusively now. I use to use IE every now and then. I only bring up IE to test things out now.

I just tried firefox, I thought it was still a bit buggy for me... I'll use IE until it gets better. Smiling one thing that bugged me about firefox was that control-o didn't open the "open page" dialog, but the "open file" one instead. that seems automatic for me... it didn't seem to scroll really well using the keyboard too, that's also a deal breaker for me, I try not to use the mouse very much at all.

Bummer, sorry you didn't enjoy it. I've gotten use to using Ctrl-T in FireFox to open a new tab and the cursor is already on the URL line. Maybe you could change the behavoir of the Ctrl-0? I also use Ctrl-K a lot to enter my Google searches.

If you look at it again you may want to check the extensions. Someone may have created one that modifies the way the keyboard scrolling works. Odd though, I haven't noticed any difference in the way it scrolls.

This is also interesting: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/why/

BTW, do you see my nib icon in IE next to the URL?

I actually had to modify this main page to get around a bug in IE. You may have noticed that the logo changed from a gray background to the blue. I didn't modify the image but had to do some fanagling for it to work right in IE. For some reason it can't handle transparent PNG images.

Check this page out in IE and FireFox: http://www.koivi.com/ie-png-transparency/

Anyway, it doesn't matter which browser you use as long as you point it to PenPassion! Smiling

An update has been posted.

FireFox 0.9.1 has been released. Not sure what all it fixes.

My only browser

Hi,

Firefox is my only browser in both Linux and Windows. Its concept of navigation with tabs, instead of having to open a new instance for each site, is fantastic. It is much faster than IE and much less susceptible to bugs and attacks.

I agree.

I use it on my Mac now as well. I use Safari sometimes too, but still like Firefox.

Only One I Use

I started using FireFox about a year ago and it is all I use except when a page cannot be opened with IE. I enjoy using it and I use their Thunderbird email software.
